2. Data we process
We process information you provide when placing an order, contacting us or registering a customer account, such as your name, address, email address, telephone number and payment information. We also process technical data generated when you visit the website, such as your IP address, browser type and time of access.
3. Purposes
We process personal data to fulfil orders and payments, communicate with customers, manage customer accounts, operate and secure the online shop and, where consent has been given, for marketing and newsletters.
4. Payments
Online payments are handled by the payment providers offered at checkout. They process the data necessary for payment, such as the amount, payment status and transaction reference, under their own privacy policies. Chez Woof does not receive or store complete card details.
5. Data sharing and service providers
We share personal data only where necessary to fulfil a contract or operate the shop, in particular with green.ch AG, which provides hosting and email infrastructure for this website in Switzerland; payment providers; shipping providers; and professional advisers, such as accountants. Our website uses WordPress and WooCommerce. Data processed by these systems is stored on green.ch infrastructure unless an external service is expressly integrated. We do not sell personal data.
6. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by green.ch AG in certified Swiss data centres. Technical access data is collected automatically in server logs to support reliability, security and troubleshooting.
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies necessary for the shopping cart, ordering and checkout and, where used, the customer account. Restricting these necessary cookies in your browser may impair the cart and checkout. Where we use additional analytics or marketing cookies, we obtain your consent where legally required.
The selected order language is stored in the technically necessary session cookie cw_order_lang and on the order so that order emails and invoices use the same language. Complianz remembers your cookie choices. You can change them at any time using “Manage consent”. Further details are in our Cookies.
After your consent, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics may process usage data, such as pages visited, interactions and device/browser information, to analyse our website. Google may process data outside Switzerland, including in the United States. These optional scripts remain blocked when you reject consent. See Google’s privacy policy.
8. Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the relevant purpose. Under commercial and tax record-keeping requirements, we retain order, invoice and payment records for ten years after the end of the relevant financial year. We delete enquiries and ordinary correspondence when no longer needed. Technical logs are retained only for an appropriate operational and security period.
9. Your rights
Subject to the legal conditions under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, you may request information about whether and which personal data we process about you; correction of inaccurate data; deletion of data no longer required; restriction of or objection to certain processing; and provision of your data in a commonly used electronic format. You may withdraw consent for the future. Some data cannot be deleted immediately where statutory retention requirements apply. Send requests to the contact address in our legal notice. You may also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
10. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. Complete security of electronic transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed.
11. Automated individual decisions
Chez Woof does not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Payment providers may carry out automated security and fraud checks under their own privacy policies.
12. Third-party websites
Our website may link to external websites or services. Their operators are responsible for their own privacy policies and processing.
13. Changes to this policy
We update this policy as needed, for example when our services, providers or applicable law change. The current version published on this page applies.
